Kim Da-young revealed she faced family opposition ahead of her marriage to Bae Seong-jae.
The May 5 broadcast of SBS 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny' (hereinafter Same Bed, Different Dreams 2) featured newlywed man Bae Seong-jae appearing.
That day Kim Da-young recalled when she told her family about dating Bae Seong-jae. Kim Da-young said "It was chaos. I thought this is what being turned upside down feels like. There was no conflict at home. On the first day I mentioned dating, loud voices were exchanged at home. There was crying and wailing.. people shouted". Bae Seong-jae bowed his head.
Kim Da-young said "My younger sibling was crying and wailing. Because my sibling works at a company, (Bae Seong-jae) is the age of their director general. The director general is too much like the man from nowhere. When I said the older sister was going to marry such a man, there was crying and chaos". Bae Seong-jae said his brother-in-law and father-in-law strongly opposed it.
Kim Da-young said "It was a marriage the two of us wanted, but I didn't want my husband to go and kneel and say I'm sorry or do things like that. I said from my side I'll have everything massaged (handled). I had everyone sit down and gave a detailed briefing. I said if this is the decision I made, shouldn't you trust me, and I gave a speech. It worked well and it smoothed over".
Bae Seong-jae added, "I learned later. I prepared several lines to say when I went to greet them, but when I actually met them I could only say I'm sorry."
