As the group Wanna One reunites after seven years, the current status of Lai Kuan-lin, who announced his retirement from the entertainment industry, is also revealed for the first time.
In WANNA ONE GO : Back to Base (hereinafter Wanna One Go : Back to Base), which is released on the 5th, Ha Sung-woon and Lai Kuan-lin are captured dramatically reuniting at Beijing airport.
The reason this meeting is even more special is that Lai Kuan-lin had not appeared in public for a long time since his retirement. Lai Kuan-lin, who is currently staying in Beijing, will have his recent condition and how he has been during that time revealed for the first time. Also, what Lai Kuan-lin thinks about Wanna One's activities and his affectionate feelings for the fandom "Wannable" are expected to be revealed through Wanna One Go, drawing fans' eyes and ears.
Lai Kuan-lin's surprise appearance especially astonished the members. Earlier, Lai Kuan-lin gained great popularity as a rookie trainee on Mnet's Produce 101 season 2 in 2017 and became a Wanna One member with a final rank of 7th. After the group's activities ended, Lai Kuan-lin began a legal dispute with CUBE Entertainment, and after winning the case he moved to China and worked as an actor.
Afterwards, in 2021 he debuted as a film director by directing the short film The Fight Between Winter and Summer, and the film The Fight Between Winter and Summer drew attention after winning five awards, including best director, best picture and best actress, at the Rome Prisma Independent Film Awards in June of the same year. However, in 2024 Lai Kuan-lin said he would retire from the entertainment industry and change careers, and he is currently working as a film director.
