Singer Hong Ji-yoon drew attention by revealing past romances with a "trash boyfriend" on the show Malja Show.
On the Apr. 4 broadcast, KBS 2TV variety program Malja Show was presented as a confession special. Hong Ji-yoon joined the audience as a special guest.
Hong Ji-yoon is a singer who gained recognition after winning the final round of the MBN variety program King of Singers 3, which ended in Mar. She was earlier the runner-up on TV CHOSUN's variety show Miss Trot 2, and although she once trained as a trainee aiming to debut as an idol, a leg injury frustrated those plans; recently she has been attracting attention as the rising queen of trot.
As tumultuous as her debut was, Hong Ji-yoon's dating history was also full of twists. She said of her usual dating style, "I'm devoted. I give everything," and added, "I gave the most when I was a student." She shocked listeners by saying, "There was a time I transferred the wages I earned from my part-time job as a student to an ex-boyfriend's card."
Hong Ji-yoon went on to say, "Among my ex-boyfriends, there were a lot of 'dungchas' (trash cars). Once, my friends and I went to a restaurant and someone broke my car door. At that point I thought I shouldn't date someone with violent tendencies, so I broke up immediately," adding to the surprise. She said about the car door cost, "To get the money back you'd have to contact and communicate, and I didn't want to do that. I just paid with my own money and blocked them entirely."
Regarding Hong Ji-yoon's shocking past relationships, Kim Young-hee cautiously offered advice. She said, "There are times you meet a dungcha, but there are times I turn a perfectly fine car into a dungcha. That's exactly the act of giving your card away. The person who takes it is at fault, but it becomes a habit," and advised, "That person might have been a fine car, but I made it a dungcha and dated them."
She said, "I used to think giving everything and sacrificing were love, but these days I've changed a lot. I think wise love is meeting someone while protecting myself. Hong Ji-yoon, don't give your card in your next relationship. If this airs, men will line up right away," she said, adding laughter. <
