Singer and actor IU donated 100 million won for Children's Day, continuing her warm-hearted good deeds. It has added to the emotion that she even personally took care of the child actors she connected with in her works.
According to her agency EDAM Entertainment on the 5th, IU donated a total of 100 million won under the name "IUaena" (IU + Uena) for Children's Day
The donation was given as 50 million won each to the Korea Child Welfare Association and the National Association of Community Childcare Centers. The funds will be used for medical expenses and living support for children in child welfare institutions, and for birthday gifts and cultural experiences for children at community child centers.
Along with this, IU conveyed warm feelings by delivering Children's Day gifts and handwritten letters to the child actors who worked with her in productions, adding to the warmth.
Child actor Kim Tae-yeon, who worked with her in the Netflix series When Life Gives You Tangerines, posted on social media a message saying "Ji-eun unni, thank you" along with a photo verifying the gift. Representatives for Ahn Tae-rin and Lee Cheon-mu also expressed their gratitude, adding to the warmth.
IU has continued to donate under the name "IUaena" every year on meaningful days such as her debut anniversary, birthday and year-end. Last year she also practiced steady giving, including 200 million won at year-end, 200 million won for wildfire relief and 150 million won for Children's Day.
Meanwhile, since debuting in 2008, IU has been active as both a singer and an actor.
