Actor Jung Jae-sung has been cast in the TVING original series "Becoming the Legendary Cook".
The series, which premieres at 8:50 p.m. on the 11th on TVING and tvN, "Becoming the Legendary Cook" (written by Choi Ryong, directed by Jo Nam-hyung, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Studio Dragon·Studio N / supplied by TVING) is a military cook-show fantasy drama that depicts Private First Class Kang Seong-jae (Park Jihoon) wearing a kitchen knife instead of a rifle and an apron instead of an ammunition belt as he becomes the "legendary cook".
Jung Jae-sung plays Maj. Gen. Kim In-tae, the 29th division commander and a graduate of the Korea Military Academy, in the drama. Kim In-tae becomes embroiled in various incidents in the story and is a reliable supporter who highly values the abilities of protagonist Kang Seong-jae (Park Jihoon) and helps him favorably. He has a warm side that watches over and supports Kang Seong-jae's growth, along with experiencing the hardships within the military organization.
Jung Jae-sung's solid acting skills will be used in the right places to maximize the character's appeal. From a cool senior official to a friendly neighbor, his wide range suggests that his characteristic control of pacing will enhance immersion in the cooking competitions and coming-of-age drama that take place in the unique setting of the military.
He has shown a strong presence across a number of major films and dramas, including the films Veteran, Inside Men, Hunt and Negotiation, and the dramas The Judge Returns, Good Partner, Prison Playbook, My Mister, The World of the Married, and Marry My Husband.
