Singer G-Dragon's agency apologized after he was embroiled in controversy over wording on his stage outfit.
G-Dragon performed on the 'K-SPARK in Macau' stage in Macau on the 2nd.
On that day, G-Dragon appeared wearing a white T-shirt and a white jacket, and some of the Dutch wording on the T-shirt included sexual expressions and words derogatory toward Black people, sparking controversy.
In response, G-Dragon's agency Galaxy Corporation issued a statement on the 4th saying, We sincerely apologize for the inclusion of wording in the artist's performance costume that was inappropriate in social and cultural context.
It added, Through this matter, the company has once again recognized the importance of careful cultural sensitivity and responsible review, and we will more closely examine and improve internal review and confirmation procedures, including styling, and operate under more cautious standards.
Finally, It said, Going forward, we will act with greater responsibility and care so that the diverse cultural backgrounds and values of global fans are respected in all activities related to the artist. We sincerely apologize once again for causing disappointment and concern by this incident.
