KOYOTE member Shinji finally tied the knot with singer Moonwon. There were controversies that the entire nation opposed, but the two trusted each other and endured to become a married couple.
The two held a private wedding ceremony on the 2nd at Raum Art Center in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul, becoming officially married amid blessings from family and acquaintances.
This marriage was not smooth from the start. The groom is seven years younger, the fact of remarriage, and various controversies that followed after the meeting video was released. In some quarters, the phrase 'the entire nation opposed' even appeared, showing strong public backlash. In particular, after Moonwon revealed his experience of divorce and that he has a child, criticism continued over his attitude, remarks and attire, and unconfirmed suspicions related to past records spread online, making the controversy even bigger.
In response, Shinji's side issued an official statement saying, "The raised suspicions are not true," and Shinji also drew a line, saying, "I confirmed it personally." But even until just before the wedding, public opinion toward the two had not completely turned.
Nevertheless, the two chose marriage out of trust in each other. Shinji, through a broadcast, showed trust in Moonwon, saying, "This is still enough. What is seen by others is not everything," and Moonwon also emphasized responsibility, saying, "I will work harder to show you that much more."
The images of the two revealed amid the controversy also attracted attention. Moonwon admitted, "After work stopped I did jobs at logistics centers and cleaning work," revealing how he continued his livelihood, and Shinji defended him as a "sincere person." The first part of the ceremony was hosted by Boom and Moon Seyoon, and congratulatory speeches were delivered by KOYOTE member Kim Jongmin and Paik Ga. The two revealed their friendship by singing Sung Si Kyung's 'You were the emotion,' and Shinji responded in tears. The wedding songs continued with Ailee's 'Heaven' and Baek Z Young's 'Two People,' reportedly heating up the venue further.
In the wedding invitation, Shinji stated, "We will now walk forward looking at the same place, with the love we built while facing each other." After countless words and glances, they started this new beginning called marriage. Many fans are also blessing them to live happily, as they had endured until the end and had faith in each other.
