On the March 3 broadcast of MBC 'Sora and Jinkyung,' while waiting for contact from an overseas agency, Hong Jin Kyung recounted past failures.
That day Hong Jin Kyung, saying "it's entertainment anyway," pretended to be preparing with a light heart but received harsh words from Han Hye-jin, who said, "You can't go in with that mindset."
Also Han Hye-jin said, "You have a face that works in Paris," adding, "Your challenge would be headline material overseas. It's global news," which lightened the mood.
She then cheered, "You debuted as a model. You were originally a fashion model and now you're a comedian, but the fashion model DNA running in your blood has awakened again after 30 years."
In the end Hong Jin Kyung expressed her honest feelings. She said, "To be honest, if you say you'll try modeling once, you should try Paris at least once. I really want to go too," recalling the time she quit all broadcasting activities and headed to Paris at 22.
However, Hong Jin Kyung returned home without appearing in a single fashion show and admitted her failure as a model. She said, "My self-esteem hit rock bottom then, I couldn't even grasp myself here and thought, 'Why did I come here?' I thought this wasn't my path, so I focused on entertainment."
In particular Hong Jin Kyung said, "When they suddenly say let's go, something genuine comes to my heart," but added, "But that also scares me. As sincerity rises I worry I might get hurt, and I'm afraid it would be humiliating if I show myself falling apart."
Hearing this, Han Hye-jin advised sincerely, "If you think lightly the process might be easier but you make yourself soft and loose and exclude the version of yourself who would work harder, who would fight tooth and nail. You have to treat a real audition as if there's no tomorrow."
She added, "With that rotten mindset of yours, when you get on the plane back to Korea you'll be beating the ground and regretting it."
