Singer Eric Nam candidly revealed the difficult times hidden behind his bright image.
In the video "Ran into Eric Nam on the street and spontaneously busked" released on the YouTube channel "J K Out," Eric Nam confessed his recent condition and his feelings over the years.
On that day, when J asked, "Eric, what are you up to these days," Eric Nam replied, "I have a lot going on. I'm preparing an album and I'm always busy," and updated on his condition. He added, "When I open my eyes I think about what I have to do today," describing his relentless daily life. The two in particular met through the "Finding Eric Nam" content five years ago. J recalled, "We even did 1,000-won busking," and Eric Nam answered, "I cheered you on for doing YouTube," creating a warm atmosphere.
Regarding his current activities, Eric Nam revealed that he appeared on the U.S. reality show "The Traitors," explaining, "It's a program that won six Emmy Awards and was featured in Super Bowl commercials." He added modestly, "Now even people who don't know K-pop recognize me. I find that surprising too."
Regarding his activities in Korea, he said, "I did a variety of shows such as 'Law of the Jungle' and 'We Got Married,'" and added, "I also started acting and filmed a movie with Yoo Ji-tae and senior Kang So-ra."
But contrary to his bright image, he also revealed that he suffered extreme pain while active in Korea. Eric Nam confessed, "My mental health deteriorated a lot because of the burden of always having to show only a bright and positive side," adding, "I was even afraid to drink a cup of coffee." He continued, "For three months I ate only porridge and had panic disorder. I developed issues with my arms and fingers, a cervical disc problem, leg paralysis, and even lost sensation on one side of my face," shocking listeners.
