A former member of the group Cleo, Chae Eun-jeong (44), candidly shared her feelings about pregnancy.
Chae Eun-jeong opened by saying on her SNS on the 3rd, "The candid stories many people left on my transfer feed about my concern video.. cold and realistic experiences and various negative/positive/supportive pieces of advice, I really read every single character carefully and thought about them for a long time."
She went on, "In the meantime I met and talked with acquaintances, compared my personal tendencies, personality and values, and talked with my husband more than anyone," and added, "But… I still lacked confidence. I couldn't find any courage and couldn't bring myself to it.. worries, anxiety and fear came first, and I concluded that the time is not right yet.. My husband felt the same way," honestly conveying her feelings about becoming pregnant for the first time in her 40s.
She added, "Someday when the two of us are truly ready, even if it is too late then, I think that too would be my responsibility for my choice and my life," expressing gratitude to those who gave her advice. "To me, who knew nothing and felt overwhelmed, even if it was just in writing, it helped me grasp the situation and make this deliberate decision and gave me great help and strength. I sincerely thank you once again," she added.
Earlier, Chae Eun-jeong confessed she had never taken a break from work in her life, did not have strong innate stamina, and had no other family or relatives to help, so she worried about pregnancy with advancing age.
She then posted a video saying she was not certain and asking, "I earnestly ask for and await sincere advice from those with many experiences in difficult situations: realistic advice from many experienced people, those who had their first child after their 40s and prepared hard to have one, and those who are in the process of preparing to have a child.."
Chae Eun-jeong also elaborated, "It is not that a child cannot be conceived; I simply have not tried yet, and I did not marry because I wanted to have a child. Above all, we are not in a situation of great financial surplus," explaining her circumstances.
Chae Eun-jeong married a non-celebrity on Aug. 31 last year. Her husband is known to work in the broadcasting industry.
