Singer Sung Si Kyung speaks out about the controversial Goryeo celadon look.
Tonight (the 3rd) at 9:10 p.m., the MBC variety show Sora and Jingyeong (directed by Kang Seong A, Jang Ha Rin, Yoon Dong Wook, written by Shin Jae Kyung) episode 2 will show Hong Jin Kyung inviting her daughter Rael to prepare for an English interview with a Paris-based agency. Lee Sora's teacher also appears: singer Sung Si Kyung, who speaks three languages including English and Japanese, and creator Baek Jin Kyung, who has 1.58 million subscribers and is the "honorary Briton."
Sung Si Kyung recounts vivid experiences he had while challenging overseas markets at a relatively late age, even offering the encouragement, "I hope it succeeds gloriously."
In the process, he also addresses the so-called "Goryeo celadon look" controversy(?) that attracted as much attention as his singing ability during a recent appearance on Japanese television.
Last winter Sung Si Kyung appeared on Fuji TV's variety show Chidori's Oniren-chan in Japan and showed off distinctive fashion, with some people reacting that his shirt looked "like Goryeo celadon." After presenting fashion content called "I'll dress up" and receiving bittersweet reactions that it fell short of expectations, Sung Si Kyung later posted on his social account, "Okay, stop it," and revealed the sky-blue silk shirt he wore on that broadcast. He cheerfully explained at the time, "I don't know much about fashion, the person in charge in Japan picked something flashy, and the jacket was tight so I took it off... next time I'll go with Joseon white porcelain."
Meanwhile, Baek Jin Kyung, who has lived in the U.K. for eight years and works as a plus-size model, tells Lee Sora that "English is all about attitude" and advises, "You can drop Korean-style modesty," inspiring Lee Sora. Lee Sora then completes a self-introduction, "I am a Korean Heidi Klum, BAMM!" She was likening herself to Heidi Klum, the global model who was the emblem and original host of the widely popular Project Runway, emphasizing that she was the host who led all seasons of Project Runway Korea.
