'The manager's ears are donkey ears' meat boss David Lee headed to a highland 450 meters above sea level in search of an outrageously priced jang flavor.
The March 3 broadcast of KBS2's 'The manager's ears are donkey ears' depicted the daily life of meat boss David Lee, who runs an American-style barbecue restaurant.
VERIVERY's Kang Min joined as a special MC. Kang Min, who returned with a solo song, had previously attracted attention with an ending pose of biting a glove, and Jung Ho-young, Park Myung Soo and Jun Hyun-moo stepped up to challenge him. Amid mutual jibes, Kang Min called Jun Hyun-moo the "ending fairy," saying, "Do I really have to pick one?"
Including David Lee, five members of the meat squad visited a quiet hanok in the mountains of Pohang. It was a place that makes various jang using 100% domestic ingredients and a renowned house owning fermented jang aged more than 15 years. As it was also favored by famous chefs, David Lee visited to learn the basics because his staff were not familiar with jang.
From seoritae soybean paste that costs 40,000 won per kilogram to 15-year-old old vintage jang priced at 90,000 won per kilogram. They were astonished that a single jang jar was worth 10 million won, and famous chefs such as chef Hooni Kim each took ownership of their own jang jars. David Lee said he would buy jang made with his staff rather than existing stock, predicting extreme labor ahead.
