The group Cortis (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Geonho) has been writing overwhelming hit records across music, music videos and social media even before the official release of their second mini album.
The title track "REDRED" music video proved its steep growth by surpassing 10 million YouTube views at about 4:20 p.m. on the 3rd, just 12 days after its release. This shortens by more than half the 27–29 days it took for tracks from last year's debut album to reach 10 million views. The members, who present themselves as a "young creator crew," participated as co-directors, and their original, raw energy showcased against the backdrop of Korea's old shops and streets was said to have struck a chord with global fans.
The passion for the performance is also heating up. On the global content platform TikTok, posts using "REDRED" as background music exceeded 720,000 as of the afternoon of the 3rd. In particular, the "palang-gwi" dance, which involves drawing an X with both arms or waving hands beside the ears, is leading the challenge craze, and the performance film capturing detailed choreography also recorded 4.5 million YouTube views in a short time after its release, showing explosive buzz.
In addition, Cortis made history as the first K-pop boy group that debuted within the last five years to appear consecutively on Spotify's weekly and daily global charts. After entering No. 103 on the "Weekly Top Songs Global," they have remained on the "Daily Top Songs Global" chart for 11 consecutive days, and they swept No. 1 on major domestic music platforms and YouTube's "music rising" chart, confirming steady popularity at home and abroad.
Building momentum, Cortis will officially release the second mini album "GREENGREEN" at 6 p.m. on the 4th and begin full-scale activities. In addition to the title track "REDRED," six tracks in total, which the members participated in creating across the board, will be released. On the day of the release at 8 p.m., they will hold the "GREENGREEN Release Party" at S Factory in Seongdong District, Seoul, where they will present live performances of all the tracks for the first time and interact directly with fans.
