'Salim-nam 2' singer Hwanhee shed endless tears as he felt his mother's years.
On the 2nd episode of KBS2TV entertainment program 'Salim-nam 2', the discord between Park Seo-jin's parents and Hwanhee's tears were revealed. That day Park Seo-jin and Park Hyo-jeong, siblings, decorated the house and prepared party supplies to host a surprise Parents' Day party for their parents who were coming up to Incheon, but they realized a marital fight had broken out because the parents' mood was unusual.
Park Hyo-jeong and Park Seo-jin mostly sided with their mother. Lee Yo-won empathized, saying, "It's absolutely the husband's fault. Then the children should side with the mother. That's right." Eun Ji-won asked, "What do you do when spouses fight?" Lee Yo-won said, "I always tell my children. Then my son Jae-won tells his dad off," proudly mentioning her three children. Eun Ji-won said, "That must be comforting," and Lee Yo-won nodded, "Of course. It's enormously comforting."
However, from the mother's perspective the reason the parents fought was sadly a deeply hurtful matter. The mother, who last week had a lump in her neck and even underwent a biopsy and surgery because it could be cancer, had her strength drained, yet the father felt slighted that she couldn't prepare a meal even once.
The father said, "Please make a meal once out of love," extending a conciliatory hand in his own way, but the mother, enraged, said, "I'm in so much pain I could die, where is this love?"
Park Seo-jin, exhausted by his parents' fight, said, "I won't marry; I'll live alone." Eun Ji-won advised in his own way, "Yes, if someone tells you to, you'll do the opposite out of stubbornness and live that way. Just grow old and die alone. Then you'll end up getting married somewhere," offering his counsel.
But Lee Yo-won comforted, saying, "Still, it's probably better to do it."
Meanwhile Hwanhee showed filial piety toward his mother. On his third attempt at living together, Hwanhee showed cooking after decorating his mother's house. Hwanhee scattered mementos from his lean, fit days here and there. Eun Ji-won tried to defend Hwanhee's behavior, saying, "He's not normally like that! He doesn't mutter to himself like that, he doesn't act like a crazy person running around by himself," but Hwanhee's mother appeared laughing, saying, "Why are all the lights on? Why did you come? Damn it, I can't stand seeing you live comfortably. I shouldn't have told you the password."
Hwanhee didn't give up and took his mother to have passport photos taken. The mother, who had been angry, soon calmed down and asked for a memorial portrait. Hwanhee was taken aback, but Hwanhee's mother calmly consoled her child, saying, "I'm old. The day I die is closer than the days I live. If I suddenly die, you all..." Hwanhee, saying, "Why all of a sudden," couldn't finish his sentence and cried endlessly.
Hwanhee's mother said calmly, "Hwanhee doesn't cry. He gets upset, but he doesn't cry. But he cried. Thinking I made my son cry, I felt so sorry and upset."
