On Sallimnam 2, singer Hwanhee cried when he learned that his mother's portrait photo had been taken.
On the 2nd episode of the KBS2TV entertainment show Sallimnam 2, Hwanhee made persistent efforts to move in with his mother. As Hwanhee's third attempt to move in began, everyone felt his genuine filial piety.
Hwanhee explained how he naturally ended up at his mother's house, saying, "Today, too, I came to my mother's house without realizing it for the move." Do-hoon said, "There are rumors that Hwanhee is an unfilial son, but he seems to be a dutiful son," offering an honest evaluation that was hard to tell whether it was criticism or praise.
Hwanhee cleaned while decorating his mother's house. There were quite a variety of household items, but Hwanhee scattered fan-related merchandise from his younger days that had caused a huge reaction when he took off his upper body here and there. When his mother returned from going out, she was startled and said, "Why are all the lights on? Why are you here? Damn it, I can't stand seeing you live comfortably, can I? I shouldn't have told you the password,"
His mother laughed, saying, "What is this? This is your old body. Now it's totally fake," as if everything were a lie. Hwanhee offered his own excuse, saying, "I still like it now. I used to work out eight days a week."
Hwanhee greeted his returning mother. After giving his mother what he considered a dutiful-son gift, Hwanhee said he would cook and do the laundry. Hwanhee's mother said she was very pleased with Hwanhee's gifts, saying, "Even though I get a lot of help, I know Hwanhee is often called an unfilial son. Even so, doing things like this makes me feel so happy."
His mother was very surprised at her son's residence, saying, "Why are all the lights on? Why are you here? Damn it, I can't stand seeing you live comfortably, can I? I shouldn't have told you the password." She also looked at Hwanhee's youthful body and said, "This is all fake," making Hwanhee feel wronged. Hwanhee replied, "I still like it now. I used to work out eight days a week."
Then Hwanhee brought up plans to move in with his mother and travel with her. Han-hee pleaded, "Mom, after appearing on Sallimnam 2 you said, 'I've never even been to Jeju Island,' so do you know how much I was criticized?" but his mother strongly refused. To change the topic, Hwanhee asked, "When did you go on your honeymoon?"
Hwanhee's mother angrily shouted, "Don't talk nonsense about a honeymoon. I only walked around the Han River once." Undeterred, Hwanhee took his mother to have passport photos taken. He also took affectionate photos with his mother. Soon his mother, seeming deep in thought as she looked at the photographer, asked, "Can we also do a longevity portrait?" In other words, a portrait for a memorial photo.
Hwanhee was embarrassed, but his mother said she wanted to have a portrait taken, saying, "If something happens to me, there would be no portrait, and my sons would be at a loss. I don't even have a solo photo, so I thought I should have such a photo." Hwanhee cried like a child. Seeing this, Eun Ji-won and Park Seo-jin also shed tears, showing the inevitable sadness of children facing their parents' aging.
