"Mr. Housekeeping 2" singer Hwanhee hit a wall of reality while trying to strengthen his relationship with his mother.
On the episode of KBS2TV variety show "Mr. Housekeeping 2" that aired on the 2nd, a scene showed Hwanhee surprising his mother's house. He was shown getting closer to his mother and preparing various things to move in with her. Hwanhee's mother, calm at first, then unable to contain herself as her son prepared food for her, delivered a blunt, heavy remark: "No, it's bad. You and your sister eat more."
Hwanhee did not give up. He nagged and pestered his mother into going out. Hwanhee coaxed, "Mom, after appearing on 'Mr. Housekeeping 2' you said, 'I've never even been to Jeju Island,' do you know how much I've been criticized?" and added, "Every older person who watched said, 'Take your mother to Jeju,' so shouldn't you try it once before you get too old?" as he persuaded his mother.
The mother thought it would be a light walk in front of the house, but was taken aback when Hwanhee brought her to a photo studio. The mother got angry, saying, "That damn kid, I thought he really knew I take photos," but inwardly she said, "I look poor. I'm afraid people will say something, so when taking photos I can't raise the corners of my mouth," explaining her personal sorrow as the reason she doesn't take photos.
While taking a parent-and-child photo and a passport photo, the mother, while Hwanhee briefly stepped away, asked for a mortuary portrait. Having recently decided she needed to prepare one after her mother's death, she did not want to pass this kind of sorrow on to her children.
When Hwanhee returned, he found it strange that his mother was having her photo taken, and when he heard it was for a mortuary portrait he cried like a child. But the mother held Hwanhee and said, "I could have secretly come and had it taken, but I brought you and took it while you were here. Mothers all go that way, and it's a path you must take too," silently embracing her son as he cried harder.
