'Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant' Kim Yong Bin recalled the difficult times during his past activities in Japan.
On the 1st broadcast of KBS 2TV variety show 'Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant' (hereafter 'Fun-Staurant'), Kim Yong Bin spent a pleasant time sharing various stories with his close friend Chu Hyuk-jin.
That day, Kim Yong Bin showcased Daegu-style yaki udon using meat gifted by 'the butcher's son' Chu Hyuk-jin. Tasting it, Chu Hyuk-jin said, "I am so happy in moments like this," while recalling the hard times of the past.
Chu Hyuk-jin said, "In my early 20s I pursued my dream of becoming a singer late. I had to become a singer but I had no money, so I bought one lunchbox and precisely divided it into three with a spoon to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner," he confessed.
He continued, "It was really hard, but we endured it well. You also went through a lot in Japan. Don't you remember that time?" he asked.
Kim Yong Bin said, "That time was really tough. I went to Japan right after graduating middle school. I took the qualification exam and went, but because I was a boy my voice changed during puberty so I couldn't sing. My voice was in no condition. I developed panic disorder. For seven years I barely did anything and stayed at home," he revealed.
He added, "When I was in Japan, the yen was at its strongest in 2009. I couldn't even eat what I wanted and lived like that for a year. Those experiences have become lessons for my singing career now," he said. The two then hugged each other tightly toward one another, saying, "You endured a lot," creating a warm moment.
