Rapper BewhY will stop operating the hip-hop label he founded after nine years.
On the 1st, BewhY posted a long statement on his social media saying, "I am officially ending the operation of the Dejavu Group label."
BewhY opened by saying, "It has already been 10 years since I started making music and rapping. During that time, I ran forward without doubt with the belief that I could do it. Even when I had nothing, I stood before you with that one belief, and in the end I experienced success."
He continued, "That experience made me certain, and I believed the direction I chose would always be right," and added, "but life did not go as I thought." He said he made mistakes and experienced confusion in business and personal relationships.
He said, "Now I will face it. I have failed. I clearly learned the limits of my capacity, and I have decided to let go of the things I was obsessed with. I am ending the activities of my label, Dejavu Group, which I established in 2017."
Finally, BewhY said, "This decision was never made lightly, and all responsibility rests entirely with me," and expressed gratitude to colleagues and fans who believed in him.
BewhY gained popularity after winning the cable channel Mnet survival program Show Me the Money 5 in 2016. He later founded the hip-hop label Dejavu Group and carried out various activities.
Below is BewhY's full statement.
Hello, this is BewhY.
It has already been 10 years since I started making music and rapping. During that time, I ran forward without doubt with the belief that I could do it. Even when I had nothing, I stood before you with that one belief, and in the end I experienced success.
That experience made me certain, and I believed the direction I chose would always be right. But life did not go as I thought.
Many things — business, personal relationships and even my inner beliefs — flowed in ways very different from the direction I had envisioned. My faults and mistakes increased, and I did not want to admit that fact. The moment I acknowledged it, I had to face that my choices were foolish and wrong, and I was afraid that the name failure would follow.
But now I will face it. I have failed.
I have clearly learned the limits of my capacity, and I have decided to let go of the things I was obsessed with. I am ending the activities of my label, Dejavu Group, which I established in 2017.
This decision was never made lightly, and all responsibility rests entirely with me. I also want to thank the artists who trusted and worked with me. I sincerely thank everyone who watched over and supported Dejavu Group, and at the same time I offer my apologies.
