Actor Park Jeongmin's publishing company director and a staff member of Chimchakman's company became a real couple through a public blind date.
Earlier, Chimchakman, who has 3.1 million subscribers, ran a public blind date segment on his YouTube content featuring Lee Ah-young, a director at Park Jeongmin's publishing company, and a male employee of his company (Mr. Kim, the general affairs manager).
On April 15, a video showing the two people's first meeting was posted, and it received much attention under the title 'born-single Mr. Kim blind date (with Park Jeongmin chicken angel)' 'Spit and chicken: love manipulation squad'.
At the actual blind date, Chimchakman, Park Jeongmin, and Chicken Angel (Chimchakman's younger sibling) appeared as advisors, and watching the blind date in real time and relaying the on-site reactions brought laughter. At one point, Park Jeongmin stormed out, rushed into the blind date site and asked about Mr. Kim's clothing, and the director watching this fired back with a blunt, "Go away, sir," prompting uproarious laughter. The video is currently approaching 1.7 million views.
After the blind date, the director and Mr. Kim grew fond of each other and continued to meet, and they finally became a couple. The two posted couple verification photos on their respective Instagram accounts, drawing an outpouring of congratulations.
On May 1, the director of Park Jeongmin's publishing company posted a dating photo on social media showing her arm in arm with Mr. Kim as they looked out over the Seoul night view, and Mr. Kim posted a couple shot with interlaced fingers saying, "It turned out like this..." The post received as many as a thousand comments.
Internet users reacted to the birth of a "real couple" with comments such as, "Wow, this is why people watch dating shows," "I thought they'd date after watching the blind date, congrats congrats," "I usually don't care about other men's relationships so I don't watch dating shows, but I'm so happy for the two of them," "They strangely look like each other in vibe so I thought they'd do well," "So this is how it's fun to follow other people's relationships," and "I want to hear Park Jeongmin's postscript about the couple formation lol."
