Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon shared behind-the-scenes stories of a collaboration stage with a male idol group.
On the 1st, a video titled "Welcome, isn't this the first time Big Bang and Girls' Generation have teamed up?" was posted on Jibdaeseong.
That day, Daesung and Hyoyeon expressed regret that although Big Bang and Girls' Generation were active at the same time in 2007, they never performed a collaboration stage.
Hyoyeon asked, "Did you honestly want to do it with us?" To this, Daesung said, "I really wanted to. It's true, because your debut back then was on M! Countdown, right? I watched the rehearsal then. Watching that I kept thinking, 'wow, SM rehearsals are worth watching' and I wanted to keep watching." Conversely, Hyoyeon revealed, "The thing I remember as the most 'cool' about Big Bang was the stage they did inside the cage. I was totally heart-eyes then."
Daesung also mentioned Girls' Generation's famous rooftop stage for "Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)." When that stage video was released, Hyoyeon said, "It's completely the first time. How did they call them so early and have them on the roof?" and relayed the behind-the-scenes story: "The sound wasn't good then, so you couldn't hear well. The helicopter noise was louder. We just did it by feel."
Daesung asked who they had done past collaboration stages with. Hyoyeon answered, "We did it with 2PM," and Daesung said in surprise, "JYP acted as a bridge: Wonder Girls went to us, and 2PM went to you. Jinyoung hyung had a big picture in mind."
Then Hyoyeon said, "But we knew each other since trainee days." Daesung laughed and said, "Even though we did that, we weren't that close. Each had an assigned member. But we weren't close even with the assigned member, and if you talked to a different member it felt a bit like cheating."
He added, "I wondered why that person was talking to my partner. But they didn't even talk to my partner."
When Hyoyeon asked if she wasn't the same age as her then partner 'Ye-eun,' Daesung said, "Even though we're the same age," and added, "Ms. Sunye used to talk to our kids sometimes."
Hyoyeon said, "But I think every group had that. We were close, but we only practiced and left on the dot. We didn't even see each other afterward. Managers would tell us, 'just try talking.' While promoting, I never had a fluttering moment. I really did my stage like a robot and went home."
