Singer LeAnn Rimes announced additional concert cancellations after being diagnosed with severe laryngitis.
LeAnn Rimes, 43, apologized to fans on her social media on the 2nd, saying, "After a COVID-19 diagnosis, severe laryngitis followed, so I have to postpone next week's performances." She added, "I had my vocal cords examined to check the condition, and I wanted to share this as soon as possible."
Accordingly, concerts that had been scheduled in Waukegan, Illinois, and Wilmington, Ohio, in the United States were postponed to Nov. 6 and 7, respectively. Existing tickets remain valid for the new dates, and refunds will be offered to attendees who cannot attend.
LeAnn Rimes expressed regret, saying, "It breaks my heart that we have to reschedule the performances. I wanted more than anyone to be with you next week, but right now I can't control the situation." She added, "I hope to recover soon and see you again."
Earlier, she had also canceled performances scheduled in Spokane and Seattle, Washington (April 30 and May 1), due to health issues. At the time she said, "Because of a serious illness, travel and performances this week are impossible," and added, "I'm heartbroken to have to postpone the performances, but I appreciate fans' understanding and support for my recovery."
Until just a week ago she had shown a bright appearance. LeAnn Rimes shared recent photos enjoying a trip to Mexico with her husband, Ed Shibrian, to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary. The two were married on April 22, 2011.
In an anniversary message she also wrote, "We have loved each other and built memories for 15 years. Many things happened this year, but we made a new vow," a post that seemed to hint at health concerns.
