Singer and actor Park Jihoon revealed why he chose an extreme diet method instead of Wegovy for the Danjong character.
On the 30th of last month, the YouTube channel KBS Kpop released content titled "The procession of Danjong that moved 16 million viewers to tears. And Eun-chae's last diary that will be forever saved within us."
This content featured the film The King's Warden, which drew a cumulative audience of 16 million, and Park Jihoon, who returned as a singer, appeared as a guest. Hong Eun-chae welcomed Park Jihoon and mentioned The King's Warden.
Especially, Hong Eun-chae said, "It was a hot topic that you lost a lot of weight for the work. Seeing that, I was genuinely appalled—is it true that you only ate apples.. can someone live like that?" and wondered about the diet method.
Park Jihoon said frankly, "That's right. I lost weight. These days there is Wegovy and things like that. But I only tried IV fluids; I've never had an injection put in, and this had to be done by myself. I studied a lot of different things. Because I had to lose as much as possible within two and a half months, I studied and did those things, but it was really scary," explaining why he chose the extreme diet method of eating only apples.
Park Jihoon explained, "So I thought I should lose weight in a somewhat unhealthy way by not eating. So I said I was preparing for the work and shut myself in my room to read the script, study Danjong, and endured by eating apples."
Speaking about the two and a half months of dieting, Park Jihoon added, "I really wanted to eat chicken. I think I like fast food. I like chicken and meat, steak."
Park Jihoon became a 10-million-ticket actor with The King's Warden. About this, he said, "Putting aside whether the work did well or not, my mood doesn't really swing wildly. I'm just going about my usual life. Of course it's good that it did well. I don't like seeing a more showy side of myself. I think I'll just try to live as usual," offering his thoughts and drawing attention.
