'Okmunah' Kim Sin Young gave a refreshing explanation about the rampant rumors of discord between her and Song Eun I.
On the 30th broadcast of KBS2 Problem Child in House, Kim Sin Young and Song Eun I appeared together for the first time in four years and spoke directly about the discord rumors that had arisen.
The two said, "There were many comments like 'It seems like they completely cut ties' and 'Didn't they fight?'" and recounted how awkward the situation was. In particular, Kim Sin Young said, "It even went so far as people saying we tore each other's hair and then said we had a fistfight," and admitted, "I was careful because I was worried that even if I explained it, it would cause more misunderstandings."
The start of the discord rumors was the contract renewal. Speculation continued that the relationship between the two had soured after Kim Sin Young left her agency and chose to become independent. Regarding this, Kim Sin Young sincerely said, "I left simply because I wanted to do the work I wanted to do," and "I wanted to remain a senior I could see for a long time, not a senior as a company representative."
Song Eun I also candidly revealed her feelings at the time. She said, "I think there was a sad feeling more than a feeling of disappointment," and "It was confusing because we were together like family and suddenly went in different directions." She added, "After time passed, I felt like I had overreacted for no reason. I came to understand Sin Young's choice," and said, "I got over it without holding a grudge."
Colleagues around them also testified to the pair's relationship. Kim Sook said, "I told them to try to keep it for another year or two, but Song Eun I said, 'There's a path Sin Young wants, so it can't be helped,'" expressing respect for Song Eun I's choice, and Joo Woo Jae also supported them, saying, "Song Eun I is definitely not that type (to hold grudges)."
The two thus embraced and directly confirmed, saying, "The discord rumors are groundless," putting a period on the long-running rumor.
They also mentioned the project group they had performed with, 'Celeb Five.' The two said, "We have never officially disbanded," and explained, "Currently it is just a natural hiatus due to Ahn Young Mi's childbirth and so on."
Toward the end of the broadcast, the two became emotional. Kim Sin Young, wiping her eyes, said, "From a senior's perspective, I felt how much she must have suppressed her feelings," and Song Eun I calmly said, "I missed doing a show like this with Sin Young. I missed that laughter."
A relationship that continued even through four years of hiatus. The reunion of the two, in which emotions spoke louder than words, showed that it was a "distance made by time," not "discord rumors."
