Comedian Kim Jun-Ho's wife, comedienne Kim Ji-min, recalled the last family trip with her late father and ultimately broke down in tears.
On the Feb. 2 episode of SBS Plus' Lee Ho-seon's Cider, episode 18 will focus on "the chain forged by blood, blood ties," and stories more painful than the tangled realities under the name of family will pour out.
In that episode, Kim Ji-min recalls the one and only overnight 1-night, 2-day family trip she took with her late father. Kim Ji-min said, "My father and I had never done that before, so we were awkward around each other," and added, "Seeing my father uncomfortable made us uncomfortable too." Eventually, Kim Ji-min said her father took a bus alone that evening and returned to his home in Donghae. Kim Ji-min choked up and moved everyone when she said, "After my father passed away, I was at the age when I could have had a drink with him, and I regret that I couldn't. I cried a lot because of that."
Kim Ji-min also confessed an episode with her husband Kim Jun-Ho that came from looking so much like her mother, as the saying "blood will tell" goes. Kim Ji-min said, "My mother and I look exactly the same. When I see my mother, I think Kim Ji-min is wearing old-age makeup," and added, "Sometimes when he deals with oppa, I see my mother's 모습을 in me. I end up nagging when I don't need to." The revelation raises curiosity about why Kim Ji-min ends up nagging her famously doting husband Kim Jun-Ho without realizing it.
In addition, Lee Ho-seon also unexpectedly cracked up the set with an honest remark, saying, "Even a seed thief wouldn't do it," and "I've never imitated my mother's walk, but I walk exactly like her with a little shuffling," and "If I turn around with my mother, even the size of our hips is similar. When people see me, they'll see my mother."
When Lee Ho-seon asked, "Which is more important, the affection of birth or the affection of upbringing?" Kim Ji-min answered firmly, "Definitely the affection of upbringing," prompting curiosity about why she gave that answer.
The producers said, "This episode will deal deeply with the hidden wounds, responsibilities and regrets under the name of family," and added, "Kim Ji-min's self-reproach, which was hidden behind her cheerful banter, and Lee Ho-seon's weighty solutions will convey deep sympathy to viewers."
