With the group CIX announcing its disbandment, member Seunghun declared his retirement from singing.
Seunghun announced his decision to retire on the 30th of last month by posting a long handwritten letter on his social media.
First, Seunghun opened by saying, "Already seven years have passed. At first I didn't know anything and simply enjoyed debuting, but it's still amazing that I've spent such a long time with you all."
He went on, "Looking back, I was a very lacking person. I was clumsy in many ways, I made many mistakes, and there were moments when I fell short of expectations, but thanks to FIXes who believed in me until the end, cheered me on and told me it was okay, I was able to become a little better. The person I am now is certainly someone created by FIXes. From the start of our debut and for a long time, I was so happy spending time communicating with FIXes that people said I was someone who loved fans a lot," he said, expressing gratitude to fans.
He added, "After much 고민, I will now put down the name of singer for a while and try to live a new life as an individual off stage. It's not an easy thing to say, but I thought it was a decision I really needed at this time," and "I've sung and danced since elementary school, so honestly a new life is scary and frightening. Still, I will try to live diligently in my own way," announcing his retirement decision.
Seunghun wrote, "The time I spent on stage were the brightest moments of my life, and at the center of that were always FIXes. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for completing my lacking self. And thank you for walking my youth with me," reiterating his gratitude to fans and members.
Earlier, CIX's agency C9 Entertainment said, "Since debuting on July 21, 2019, CIX, which has been with fans through various activities for about seven years, will now stop team activities. We had repeated months of serious and in-depth discussions to continue activities with the members and the team, but everyone reached the conclusion that, for now, it is inevitable to stop the team's operations," the agency said.

At first I didn't know anything and simply enjoyed debuting, but it's still amazing that I've spent such a long time with you all.
Looking back, I was a very lacking person.
I was clumsy in many ways, I made many mistakes, and there were moments when I fell short of expectations, but thanks to FIXes who believed in me until the end, cheered me on and told me it was okay, I was able to become a little better. The person I am now is certainly someone created by FIXes.
From the start of our debut and for a long time, I was so happy spending time communicating with FIXes that people said I was someone who loved fans a lot.
But at some point I lacked composure, and in times when I couldn't see ahead clearly I think I couldn't approach you as I used to.
If I caused disappointment to FIXes who waited, I'm truly sorry.
I was simply lacking composure, but my feelings for FIXes never diminished.
I also want to thank the company staff and crew who have always been close by.
Thanks to your efforts, I was able to come this far.
After much 고민, I will now put down the name of singer for a while and try to live a new life as an individual off stage.
It's not an easy thing to say, but I thought it was a decision I really needed at this time.
I've sung and danced since elementary school, so honestly a new life is scary and frightening.
Still, I will try to live diligently in my own way.
