YG Entertainment introduced the third member of its next rookie girl group, 'Next Monster' (working title), set to follow in the footsteps of Blackpink and BABYMONSTER. Following Ively and Chanya, the new member unveiled after a full 10 months is Kacey, born in 2012 and 13 years old.
On the 30th, Kacey, who appeared before the public for the first time in a live cover video on YG's official blog, was born to a Korean father and a Chinese mother. Thanks to her background of being born in China, she is fluent in Korean and Chinese and even English, making her a global, multilingual talent proficient in three languages. Above all, having started trainee life just one year and six months ago, she has grown into a complete all-rounder with skills in vocals, rap and dance, astonishing observers.
In the video released that day, Kacey showcased a deep, soulful tone that contrasted with her youthful face. With her distinctive husky yet delicate vocal tone driving the song, she skillfully handled everything from stable mid- and low-range sections to explosive high-note highlights, proving the overwhelming vocal ability befitting a next-generation "monster rookie."
With versatile Kacey joining the team after Ively and Chanya, the puzzle of "Next Monster" is gradually being completed. With only one hidden member left to be revealed, the global music industry is focusing its attention on the final lineup that will complete YG's new global girl group.
Meanwhile, YG Entertainment drew attention by announcing that it will launch a five-member rookie boy group this fall.
