Actor Oh Yeon-su confessed to a changed attitude toward life and is once again drawing attention due to an unexpected "azalea controversy."
Recently, through her YouTube channel, Oh Yeon-su revealed her daily life in the United States and said, "As time passes, I hope my days become boring." She, who had traveled to the U.S. for her second son's health issues, said at a cathedral, "I feel that falling asleep without great worry and having ordinary days that repeat without incident is the best state," conveying that her values about life had changed.
She went on to say, "I made life hard for myself because of a tendency to be perfect," and added, "Now I think it's okay not to try so hard," showing a more relaxed attitude that resonated with many.
While receiving support for such calm confessions, an unexpected controversy flared. It was because of spring flower photos Oh Yeon-su posted on social media. In the photos, she was smiling while holding an azalea branch, and azaleas placed in a vase were seen inside her home.
Some netizens who saw this raised concerns, saying, "Did she pick the azaleas?" Because the azalea branches were shown intact, Oh Yeon-su explained, "The farm owner picked them herself," and clarified, "You should not pick them recklessly from other trees."
But reactions remained mixed even after her explanation. Some said they understood, noting, "She only corrected the misunderstanding," while others criticized, "Setting aside ownership, the act of picking flowers itself is regrettable."
On the other hand, opinions such as "Isn't this an overly sensitive reaction?" and "It's excessive to criticize even gifts" have emerged, leading to ongoing debate.
Meanwhile, Oh Yeon-su married actor Son Ji-chang in 1998 and has two sons. Recently, she has been steadily communicating by sharing family, daily life, and her changed values about life through YouTube.
