'Study king true genius Hong Jin Kyung' DAY6's keyboard, synthesizer and vocalist Wonpil performed his solo song "I have become an adult."
On the 30th, a video titled Hong Jin Kyung YouTube 'DAY6 Wonpil and at home emotional explosion Hong Jin Kyung got choked up (+a cappella live)' was released. On that day, Wonpil met Hong Jin Kyung and recalled the behind-the-scenes before his debut as well as the times when the band was growing after debut. He, thinking it would be cooler to accompany himself, learned piano and later became DAY6's keyboardist.
DAY6 members are all vocalists who can all write lyrics and compose. Wonpil said, "After five years as a trainee, the company recommended a band. Instead, everyone had to be able to write lyrics and compose, and everyone had to be a main vocalist. It was a format uncommon in Korea."
Boasting exceptional abilities, they pushed several songs back up the charts, and at the 2024 KBO pro baseball All-Star Game they sang "Welcome to the Show" and "You Were Beautiful," leading the entire audience in chorus and bringing out happy expressions from the baseball players, creating an all-time best cleaning time.
Hong Jin Kyung said, "Here, Wonpil released 'I have become an adult' as a solo. The melody line is attractive," introducing Wonpil's solo song.
Wonpil said, "I wanted to try a melody line I haven't done before," and "What is being an adult? I've been thinking about it for several years. I'm not endlessly young, so am I an adult?" He said he still doesn't fully know the definition of an adult, but added, "It seems to be when you start thinking about what you might lose. As you age, things you must take responsibility for appear one by one, and the accompanying burden — that was my thought," which surprised everyone.
Also, Wonpil delivered a solo song that showcased his unique vocal color to the fullest with a perfect live performance, making the studio rapturous and prompting deep reflection.
