The group CORTIS revealed the vivid production process of their new song "REDRED," proving their true colors as a "self-producing idol."
CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Geonho) uploaded "Cooking REDRED 1," a making-of for the title track "REDRED" from their second mini album, to the team's official YouTube channel on the 29th.
The released video fully captured the process of the members personally directing the music video. Before the official shoot, they carried camcorders and phones themselves and roamed Seoul Sinsa 2 overpass and old shops, focusing on visualizing the song's rough texture.
Without professional staff, the members poured out ideas saying "let's just try it for now," and their efforts became the core metaphors of the actual main music video. Scenes like vending machine coffee and the floral apron setting were all products of the members' minds. CORTIS listed themselves as "co-directors" in this music video's credits, showcasing their capabilities as artists.
The birth process of the "flutter-ear dance," which is drawing attention among fans, is also striking. In the video, the members refined the choreography through countless revisions and concerns in the practice room. Even in a playful atmosphere, their immersion to the point of sweat gathering on their brows shows how sincere they are about this promotion. The CORTIS members exercised the drive to be listed as "co-choreographers," adjusting even the smallest movements themselves.
Meanwhile, CORTIS recently became the first boy group that debuted within the past five years to enter Spotify's "Daily Top Songs Global," and as of the chart dated the 28th they achieved the feat of staying on it for seven consecutive days. This is the second-longest run among K-pop boy groups to have appeared on that chart this year, following BTS. They are also holding the No. 1 spot on Korea's Spotify and Apple Music charts day after day.<
