Ralral mentioned the painful recent condition in which postpartum depression overlapped with adult ADHD.
On the afternoon of the 30th, a video titled "What happens when you stop ADHD medication (story)" was posted on the YouTube channel '랄랄ralral'.
Ralral recalled, "I had quite severe postpartum depression. Actually, I used to live very freely. From the time I was full term I couldn't even rest because of tinnitus and other things. I couldn't take good care of the baby. It all felt like my fault. I was taking postpartum depression medication too," reflecting on a time of deep self-blame.
She said that she also newly learned she had adult ADHD during the depression treatment process. But she added that, given the nature of the condition, even consistent medication was not easy to maintain, adding to the poignancy.
Ralral explained the uncontrollable impulses the disorder brings, saying, "I took tests and learned that I have ADHD. Even while taking ADHD medication I forget. Even while taking it I impulsively don't want to take it. I lose the medication or forget it or just don't want to take it. I throw all the medicine away. Then the symptoms get worse."
Even though she knew she needed medication to relieve the symptoms, she fell into a vicious cycle in which ADHD's characteristic forgetfulness and impulsivity interfered with treatment. Ralral vividly conveyed the reality that she found it difficult to control herself even while recognizing that throwing away the medication made her symptoms worse.
