Shin Jung-hwan, formerly of the group Country Kko Kko, candidly confessed about his life after the overseas gambling incident.
On the 30th, Shin Jung-hwan wrote on his social media, "Spending a long time, I often thought this. How many places will remain that will call me? As the head of the household, how much longer can I endure? So I go anywhere that needs me with a grateful heart," he said.
Shin Jung-hwan said, "I work at a restaurant, make yakgwa, and I also host the support live Excel MC that many people worry about. Could I not have known what stories would come up? I was once someone who was at the top — was this choice easy? No. I agonized hundreds of times. There were countless sleepless nights, and I hesitated and hesitated again," he said.
He continued, "Then the conclusion I finally reached was 'it is better that I endure than for my family to suffer.' That was the last answer I gave as the head of the household," he added.
Shin Jung-hwan said, "The title is only representative in name; I am only a contracted MC. When I stand in front of the microphone, I am just a host, and honestly it is very hard to endure being among much younger people for more than 12 hours. Still, the fact that there are places that still seek me out. The fact that there is work I can still do. That makes me get up again every day," he said.
He added, "Rather than past glory, I want to be remembered at the end of my remaining life with that one phrase: 'Still, you really lived hard.' The May sunlight is really nice," he added.
Shin Jung-hwan debuted in 1994 with the first album by Roolra, Roots of Reggae. Afterward, he was active as part of Country Kko Kko and received much love, but he brought on controversy such as overseas gambling and a dengue fever scandal and is currently keeping a low profile.
Recently, he was spotted working at a restaurant, and it was reported, "It has been about a month and a half since opening, and monthly sales reached 100 million won. I didn't advertise that I was running it, but locals came," drawing attention.
