With his 30th anniversary approaching, attention is focusing on the late actor Park Dong-bin's actions during his lifetime.
According to police on the 30th, a friend found Park Dong-bin dead at around 4:25 p.m. the previous day at a restaurant inside a shopping complex in Jangan-dong, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, and reported it to the police.
No signs of criminal suspicion have been reported, and no notes or other items that could clarify the circumstances were found. In particular, the place where Park Dong-bin was found dead was reported to be a location preparing to open for business.
Born in 1969, Park Dong-bin became known through the 1996 film The Gingko Bed and the 1998 film Shiri. He met audiences on screen through films such as If You Do It, Danjeokbiyeonsu, Volcano High, Millennium Fox, Taegukgi: Brotherhood Of War, My Man's Romance, Beauty of Joseon Samcheongsa, and Mission: Steal the Top Star.
His work in television was also notable. Leaving a strong impression as the venomous character in The Age of Wanderers, Park Dong-bin appeared in drama series including The Saint and the Witch, 2004 Market of Humans, Immortal Admiral Yi Sun-sin, The Daughters of Mr. Kim, Dae Joyong, Blue Fish, The King and I, Sungkyunkwan Scandal, Gwanggaeto the Great, Middle-aged Detective Kim Jeon-il, The Rebel, I Think I Loved, All About Kimchi, Psychometry Guy, Zombie Detective, Cafe Minamdang, Brave and Bold Yong Su-jeong, and The Woman Who Swallowed the Sun.
Known for his distinctive character as the venomous figure in The Age of Wanderers, Park Dong-bin became more widely known to the public for his role as Park Do-jun in the MBC morning drama I Think I Loved, where he caused a stir by spitting out the juice he was drinking after hearing the line, "Ye-na is Sun-jung's daughter." Afterwards, nicknamed "juice uncle," Park Dong-bin was loved for his friendly character.
He gave a passionate performance in The Woman Who Swallowed the Sun, which ended last December, and until recently he was preparing to open a restaurant, showing intense enthusiasm both as the actor Park Dong-bin and as the person Park Dong-bin, but his death has caused regret.
Meanwhile, Park Dong-bin married fellow MBC open recruitment actor Lee Sang Yi and had one daughter. The funeral hall is set up at the Domi Funeral Hall in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, and the funeral procession will be at 8:30 a.m. on May 1.
