Twists kept coming. The identities of the two eliminated contestants were revealed.
On Wednesday, the 29th, episode 2 of Netflix's daily variety show Death Game: The Final Winner (directed by Kwon Dae-hyun, produced by TEO) was released, featuring a fierce prelim between Mensa member Yurisa, KAIST artificial intelligence researcher Heo Seong-beom, travel YouTuber GwakTube with 2.15 million subscribers, Single's Inferno season 5 alum Park Hee-seon, and KiiiKiii member Jiyu. A game called "fate war 39," in which contestants predict their own number of wins, continued as GwakTube and Heo Seong-beom fought a fierce battle over the first eliminated contestant.
Because chance could change depending on the opponent's card, the psychological warfare grew more intense. In the latter half, cornered GwakTube referenced Squid Game Season and said, "You have to kill the skilled person and take the 'dosirak' up," volunteering himself as the "dosirak" and arguing that Heo Seong-beom should be eliminated, showing a strong will to survive. In particular, when he said, "If you spare me, I will stream KiiiKiii's songs endlessly," and sent Jiyu a pleading look, Heo Seong-beom shot back by even mentioning his lecture video in which he analyzed KiiiKiii's lyrics to "404," turning the scene into a sea of laughter.
Heo Seong-beom succeeded with a "hidden" strategy and laid the groundwork for a comeback, but the situation was still one in which he could not be completely safe. At that moment, Yurisa, who held the key to victory, lent support to Heo Seong-beom and the fate of the eliminated contestant was decided. GwakTube, confirmed as the first prelim elimination, said in his remarks, "I have a lot of self-blame and too much greed." He added, empathizing with the mockery from Pannibottle about his rapid elimination from Death Game, "Travel YouTubers will never set foot near Death Game again," he joked.
The second prelim game, "cube inferno," also commenced with first-round survivors Jiyu, Park Hee-seon, Yurisa and Heo Seong-beom. It was a spatial perception game where contestants collect information with optimal questions and deduce the hidden cube's arrangement, and because it was the final match to advance to the main round, an even fiercer battle of wits began. Heo Seong-beom approached the correct answer quickly through systematic note-taking and analysis, while Jiyu organized information into three-dimensional structures and relied on intuitive judgment. The first contestant to advance to the main round was Jiyu. Having passed all prelims in first place, Jiyu said, "I'm glad I can return with confidence and I want to brag to the KiiiKiii members soon."
Heo Seong-beom then succeeded in advancing to the main round, and the last surviving contestant was Yurisa. Park Hee-seon, who narrowly missed advancing to the main round, said with teary eyes, "If I had been a little calmer I could have guessed it; I was too hasty and that was regrettable, and I felt very lonely," adding, "I threw myself into an unexpected environment and gained a lot."
