Broadcaster Jang Young-ran cleared up a longstanding misunderstanding with her mother.
On the 29th, a video titled "Jang Young-ran reveals her childhood home for the first time after tidying up her father's belongings (father's diary, bereavement syndrome)" was posted on the YouTube channel 'A-grade Jang Young-ran'.
Visiting her parents' home after a long time, Jang Young-ran greeted her mother warmly. But her mother said, "My head hurts. I vomited everything," causing Jang Young-ran to worry.
Later, Jang Young-ran and her husband ate a meal with her mother. Jang Young-ran's mother confessed, "I'm fine now, but I think I was depressed before."
Jang Young-ran lost her father in 2017. At the time, her mother said, "After my husband died, I didn't even want to wash my feet or move; I was tired of the world. After six to seven years my mind came back. In the past, it wasn't my mind."
Her mother also said, "One day I went up the back hill and there wasn't a single person around; I walked alone. It was something to be proud of. I felt that way, so I boasted to Young-ran. But my daughter yelled, 'I'm here, Han-seob is here, brother is here, so why are you saying that?'" expressing hurt about the past.
Jang Young-ran said, "I thought my mother wanted to die. I got angry and asked why she thought she was alone," and her mother explained, "I was overcoming and moving past depression."
Then Jang Young-ran protested, "No, Mom, you should have said it that way. Just saying 'Young-ran, I'm alone' made you look so lonely," expressing her grievance. Hanchang, who was listening nearby, said, "Say you were wrong," and Jang Young-ran apologized, "I was wrong."
Jang Young-ran joked, "Since then I built a wall with my daughter," but conveyed her mother's words, "The road of life is walked alone," saying, "You're right, Mom. That's why the road of life is walked alone. Let's get through it well. I will be alone later too. Everyone becomes alone; I'm getting through it well. Mom, I love you."
To this, Jang Young-ran's mother said, "You should do that," resolving the old misunderstanding and creating a warm moment.
