Masterpieces of animation representing Korea and Japan will be revived in May with majestic orchestral sound.
Golden J Entertainment Co. and Shangri-La ENT are co-hosting and co-organizing the "2026 K-animation x J-animation symphonic super concert," which raised fans' expectations by announcing a nationwide tour. This performance is a premium concert that reinterprets the emotional impact of animation and game OSTs with an orchestra and will offer a "cinematic immersion" that adds depth to familiar melodies.
In the first part of the performance, medleys from globally beloved titles such as "Super Mario" and "Pokémon," as well as representative OSTs from Studio Ghibli, will take the stage. The Korea Pops Orchestra, led by chief conductor Jang Kyung-hwan, and arranger Park Cheong-jun join forces to create delicate and rich resonance.
In the second part, a modern stage centered on the OSTs of the K-animation "Kedehun," which feature dynamic narratives, will unfold. In particular, HuntRix vocalists Song Su-min, Jang Eun-ji, Yoo Yeon-eun and Lion Voice Cha Yun-gyu join to vividly convey the original songs' energy.
This concert aims to be a "family-friendly premium performance" that lowers the threshold for classical music. The introduced "special discounted admission for children attending with guardians" provides an opportunity for parents and children to enjoy high-quality music together and is expected to give children a precious memory of their "first classical" experience.
As part of a cultural sharing program, social contribution invitation events will also be held. The organizer said, "We hope this will be a warm time when everyone can come together and be comforted without discrimination through music."
The nationwide tour schedule begins May 2 at Ulsan Culture & Arts Center, continues May 3 at Busan Concert Hall, May 5 (Children's Day) at Ansan Culture & Arts Center, and May 23–24 at Seoul Lotte Concert Hall.
Promoter Lee Kwang-ho said, "As an official performance that has completed formal approval from the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA), it will satisfy both animation fans and orchestra enthusiasts," and added, "We hope you experience firsthand the process of powerful action and narrative-filled pieces being reborn in the Korea Pops Orchestra's own colors."
