Big Bang alumnus T.O.P explained why he chose singer and actor Nana as the lead in his new song "Completely crazy!"
On the 28th, a video titled "one-off YouTuber T.O.P with NANA" was uploaded to the "T.O.P" channel.
In the video that day, T.O.P sat side by side with Nana wearing the outfits from the "Completely crazy!" music video and did a mukbang in an awkward atmosphere. Then Nana asked, "I'm curious about the reason you cast me."
T.O.P said, "Honestly, to be frank. From the moment I first made the song 'Completely crazy!', I thought it would be great to have a mysterious female figure whose era you couldn't tell. The charm you can't determine whether she's from space or from the past, with a touch of classical beauty," he explained.
He continued, "Actually, like the song title, I thought it would be very attractive if a woman who truly looks completely crazy appeared. I felt she fit best," he said.
Then Nana said, "Thank you," and T.O.P bowed his head in response, saying, "I'm grateful." T.O.P asked, "Have you seen the music video? What did you think about the completed music video with Ms. Nana appearing in it?" Nana replied, "I think it turned out very pretty. But it's like the two of us look very similar (in it)."
T.O.P agreed, saying, "It's so strange," and Nana said, "Even though the images are very different, it's strange that we ended up looking alike," she said.
Meanwhile, T.O.P released his first solo studio album "Another Dimension" on the 3rd and made a comeback as a singer. It is T.O.P's first solo album in 13 years since 2013's "Doom Dada," and includes 11 tracks in total, including the double title tracks "Completely crazy! (Studio54)" and "DESPERADO."
Notably, T.O.P stopped activities after being sentenced to 10 months in prison with a two-year suspended sentence for marijuana use in 2016. He later announced his withdrawal from Big Bang and retirement, but returned to acting with an appearance in Squid Game season 2 in 2024. After releasing his solo album and making a comeback, Big Bang members also quietly showed their support.
