The group CORTIS's 'REDRED' is showing a strong presence on domestic and international music charts.
CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Geonho)'s mini album 2 title track "REDRED" held the No. 1 spot on Apple Music's "Today's Top 100: Korea" chart dated the 28th. After the song was released on the 20th, it entered the chart dated the 21st at No. 72 and steadily climbed the ranks, first reaching the top on the chart dated the 26th, and has since held the No. 1 position for three consecutive days. At 8 a.m. on the 29th, it also topped YouTube Korea's "Trending music" chart.
Also, "REDRED" entered the Melon daily chart dated the 27th at No. 90. On the real-time "Top 100" chart, it rose to No. 43 at 8:00 a.m. on the 29th, setting its highest-ever position. On the Bugs Music daily chart dated the 27th, it climbed to No. 28, four places higher than the previous day, and on Vibe's "Today's Top 100" it jumped 23 places to No. 61.
Its rise is also notable on overseas charts: on Apple Music's "Today's Top 100: Global" chart dated the 28th, it moved up 11 spots from the previous day to No. 57. On global audio and music streaming platform Spotify's "Daily Top Songs Global," it ranked No. 96 (dated the 27th), entering the "Top 100" for two consecutive days. Even nearly ten days after the song was released, it has shown an upward trend, leading critics to say it has entered a stable hit trajectory.
CORTIS had all members participate in the song-making process, completing their own music not limited to a specific genre. The performance, credited to joint choreographers, is also drawing a lot of attention. In particular, the "palang-gwi dance," which involves shaking both hands near the ears and drawing an X with both arms, is trending on short-form platforms.
CORTIS will appear on Mnet's "M Countdown" on April 30, KBS2's MUSIC BANK on May 1, MBC's Show! Music Core on May 2, and SBS's "Inkigayo" on May 3.
