Comedian Lee Suji once again delivered a reality satire with her "daycare teacher" character. It was funny but not something you could just laugh off, as situations unfolded that captured both empathy and laughter.
In a video released on the 28th through the YouTube channel "Hot Issue G," Lee Suji reappeared as the talked-about daycare teacher.
The details were alive from the start. When the production staff asked, "Last time it was a dress, so why jeans?" she answered, "My mother has a wave body type so pants are better, so I cleared out the skirts," provoking laughter.
But the real laugh point came during a parent-teacher consultation. When a parent complained, "My child says the teacher won at rock-paper-scissors. Their heart was pounding and they couldn't sleep," Lee Suji firmly explained, "For the sake of the children's emotions, I always make it a tie. There is no winner or loser."
The parent then asked, "So did our child lie?" and even mentioned checking the CCTV, and the mood instantly shifted into "complaint mode." It was a scene that recalled the reality of parenting communities reacting excessively.
Lee Suji then lay down and rolled on the playground floor to take pictures of the children, showing a teacher who was earnest about "life shots." The passion that didn't miss a single small scene added to the laughter.
The sports day scene was also a highlight. There was cheering for the children but it was a "silent cheer" with only lips moving. The reason was one: "I'm afraid complaints will come in that it's noisy." Also, by removing the competition itself and adding the setup that "everyone is first place," she wittily twisted the atmosphere of today's educational field.
The climax came from an unexpected situation. Lee Suji fussed, saying, "Call an ambulance," and it turned out the reason was a "mosquito bite." Her frantic scene of yelling, "The child is dying, the child is itching to death," captured the bittersweet reality exactly.
