Broadcaster Park Myung Soo parted ways with a manager who had worked with him for 20 years, and the words of a debut colleague are meaningful.
Park Myung Soo recently signed an exclusive contract with CPN Entertainment, which represents Shin Dong-yeob, Lee Suji and Ji Ye-eun. CPN Entertainment is a subsidiary of Coupang and, since its founding in 2023, has expanded its activities to management and original content production.
As Park Myung Soo joined the new agency, attention naturally focused on the current situation of manager Han Gyeong-ho, who had been with him for about 20 years. Han Gyeong-ho was a figure who shared his heyday with him during appearances on MBC "Infinite Challenge" and worked with Park Myung Soo from 2005, continuing a relationship of about 20 years.
However, as Park Myung Soo joined CPN Entertainment, the breakup process naturally followed. Park Myung Soo had previously shown a special affection, saying, "There is one promise with Han Gyeong-ho. If my work runs out later, we agreed to wear matching modernized hanbok, go fishing together and enjoyably finish our lives," so the split aroused surprise.
Meanwhile, a YouTuber said, "There had been a rift between the two since the end of last year," and "Someone started advising (Park Myung Soo) that he should join a big company. In fact, Han Gyeong-ho had been excluded from manager duties since January," the YouTuber reported. The YouTuber also claimed that Han Gyeong-ho suffered psychological distress during the breakup process and received psychiatric treatment.
Park Myung Soo has not yet commented or spoken about this, and the words of a colleague who debuted with him resonated meaningfully. It is Seo Kyung-seok, who debuted as part of the fourth class after winning the gold prize at the 1993 MBC Gag Contest.
On the 27th, Seo Kyung-seok named Park Myung Soo as a colleague he sensed would succeed on KBS2's "Maljasho." He said, "Lee Yoon-seok and I gained popularity a little earlier, and relatively Park Myung Soo had a harder time, but as a rookie he would scold people and there was something about him that seemed like he would make it. Because of the scolding he was often punished, but I thought if he met the right era he would shine. And now he has become the brightest star."
Seo Kyung-seok added, "Park Myung Soo is very diligent," and "Some people criticize him as stingy, but he spends when he needs to and is not wasteful. He was really diligent and worked so hard at nightclub events at the time. So among us there was a saying, 'Even if Park Myung Soo's socks get a hole, his night events won't be canceled.'"
Meanwhile, Park Myung Soo is currently hosting KBS2's "Boss, your ears are donkey ears" and KBS Cool FM's "Park Myung Soo's radio show," among others.
