Performance artist and dancer Poppin Hyun-jun revealed his gaunt condition after being discharged from the hospital.

The released photos show Poppin Hyun-jun attending a program recording after receiving treatment for a gastric adenoma and being discharged. Earlier, Poppin Hyun-jun had been hospitalized after a benign tumor called a "gastric adenoma" was discovered. A gastric adenoma is a benign tumor that forms on the stomach lining, but if left untreated it is a precancerous lesion with a very high likelihood of progressing to cancer. He was hospitalized and received treatment, and his wife Park Ae-Ri cared for him, staying by her sick husband's side. Fortunately, Poppin Hyun-jun's condition improved and he was discharged, but he showed a gaunt appearance after losing a lot of weight.
In a recent phone call with OSEN, his wife Park Ae-Ri said, "After Hyun-jun had a health checkup and a biopsy, he received a diagnosis of an adenoma. At that time we were told the adenoma was immediately before cancer, so he went to the National Cancer Center to have the tissue removed by surgery," and updated on Poppin Hyun-jun's current condition.
She said, "Usually polyps come and go, but adenomas can become cancer if not treated, so they said it must be removed. They hurried to set a date, completed the surgery, and said recovery is important, so they even confirmed by endoscopy that the surgery went well," and added, "In the case of adenomas, once they occur they can continue to recur, and especially for someone like Hyun-jun, his parents also have a history of cancer so we have to be careful. His mother was very worried, but fortunately the surgery went well and now we are in the stage of watching whether it heals properly. He has been discharged and is focusing on recovering his health," reporting on his recovery.
Meanwhile, Poppin Hyun-jun married traditional musician Park Ae-Ri, who is two years his senior, in 2011, and they have a daughter.
