Musical actor Nam Kyung-ju, who was referred to prosecutors on charges of sexually assaulting a student, avoided detention.
On the 28th, according to Yonhap News and others, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office's Division for Investigation of Crimes against Women and Children 2 (Director General prosecutor Park Ji-na) indicted Nam Kyung-ju without detention on the 24th on charges of sexual intercourse with a person under supervision.

At the time, Nam Kyung-ju was serving as a professor in the Department of Performing Arts at Hongik University. However, immediately after the incident, the school promptly initiated disciplinary proceedings. Consequently, Nam Kyung-ju was suspended from his professorship.

When the case was first reported, he told domestic reporters, "It is true that this is a matter currently investigating," while reportedly denying the charges.
