Tving original Yumi's Cells season 3 is enjoying global success, and Kim Go-eun faces an unexpected physical confrontation between Kim Jaewon and Choi Daniel.
On the 27th, Tving released preview stills for episodes 5-6 of Yumi's Cells season 3 (directed by Lee Sang-yeop, written by Song Jae-jung·Kim Kyung) along with its box-office indicators. Episodes 5-6 will be exclusively pre-released on Tving today (the 27th) at 6 p.m. Episode 5 will air on tvN at 8:50 p.m.
In particular, in this installment the relationship among the three—Kim Go-eun (as Yumi), Kim Jaewon (as Sun-rok) and Choi Daniel (as Ju-ho)—intensifies rapidly. Previously, Sun-rok, who had coldly stuck to principles, showed a jealously tinged reaction saying "the two people don't suit each other," unlike Ju-ho, who went straight after Yumi, drawing attention to their actions.
In the released photos, Yumi looks visibly startled by the full-blown scuffle between Kim Jaewon and Choi Daniel. It raises curiosity what prompted Sun-rok, usually calm and rational and a stickler for rules, to engage in a rough physical fight with Ju-ho that left his clothes disheveled. Ju-ho, unable to contain his anger, Sun-rok staring at him coldly, and Dae-yong (played by Jun Suk-ho) trying to manage the situation all add urgency and heighten the tension.
The production team previewed, "As he meets Yumi, Sun-rok's previously solid principles begin to waver," and "the confrontation between the two men caught in a whirlpool of emotion and Sun-rok's changing realization of his own feelings will strongly stimulate viewers' love cells."
Meanwhile, this season has maintained first place in the country's weekly paid subscriber contribution for two consecutive weeks and, through Rakuten Viki, has swept top chart positions in major countries including the United States and Europe, demonstrating the power of K-romance.
