The video shows Lee Hyuk-jae candidly talking about his heyday in the entertainment industry, his current political actions, and his family. Lee Hyuk-jae recounted anecdotes from when he appeared in 'Age of Wanderers' and overcame actors' territoriality through his connection with Park Joon-kyu, the episode when he won the KBS Entertainment Awards in 2004 beating Yu Jae-seok, and his recent situation of continuing political activities in Incheon after stepping away from broadcasting due to incidents and accidents.
What drew particular attention was his meeting with his wife. Lee Hyuk-jae, who married an elementary school teacher in 2002, said he fell in love at first sight with his wife, who was attending Incheon National University of Education, and after persistent courtship he was able to marry her.
Lee Hyuk-jae said, "I studied mechanical engineering at Inha University, and I wanted to go into politics from a young age. I failed the military academy exam and went to Inha University, but later I thought I would run for mayor in my hometown Incheon. Thinking that I might be politically persecuted later and that the family had to eat and live, I had to secure a pharmacist, a teacher, and a lawyer."
He continued, "In my third year of university I kept staring at the women coming out in front of Incheon National University of Education and a very pretty woman came out. I met the student council president and said, 'Let's have a 20:20 group date, please bring this friend.' At the group date each person wrote their first and second choices, but I was on the organizing committee, so I erased the first choice my wife wrote and put my name."
Lee Hyuk-jae said, "I said, 'Please, date me.' After about 50 days she said, 'Oppa, I don't think this is right,' so I knelt for three hours and begged, 'Please, I'm begging you. Please date me,' and she felt sorry for me and dated me."
There was a crisis. Recalling the time he failed in business, Lee Hyuk-jae said, "I had no face to see my family or parents and felt sorry to the children. One day when I came home my wife asked why I came home so late and I said, 'Didn't I lose the whole house? It's over.' Then my wife said, 'You ran a business with the money you earned and failed, so why are you transferring emotions to the family? Is this all you can do?' and the tension rose sharply."
Meanwhile, Lee Hyuk-jae married an elementary school teacher in 2002 and has two sons and one daughter.
