Actor Lee Yo-won opened up about undergoing a nodule procedure.
On the 25th episode of KBS2's Mr. House Husband 2, Park Seo-jin was shown in shock after learning belatedly about his mother's hospitalization.
Earlier, Park Seo-jin's mother had discovered a roughly 2cm lump on her neck two years ago, and at the time the doctor said, "The size is quite large so it would be good to do a biopsy."
Park Seo-jin's mother, who was suspected of having thyroid cancer, had recently been hospitalized for tests as the lump had grown. Upon hearing this, Park Seo-jin said in worry, "My heart just dropped. Hasn't mom ever been sick before? That memory comes back too. If something serious happens, the same nightmare will start."
In response, NCT Wish's Sion said, "If your mother has been ill once before, you must be much more worried," expressing sympathy, and Lee Yo-won said, "But you can't just leave that alone. When I had a health check there was nothing wrong, but suddenly the nodule grew and I had a procedure. But it grew in an instant. If there's any abnormality you should go to the hospital, but I was scared so I did go to the hospital," she revealed.
The hospital suggested properly determining whether it was cancer or not for unforeseen circumstances. Hearing this, Park Seo-jin angrily said, "Why didn't you go until the lump grew bigger? What were you doing? If something happens, don't you tell anyone? You should have told me right away if you were hospitalized and something serious happened. Send me the hospital address quickly. There's a limit to keeping secrets."
He said, "I felt like my heart was breaking. Why did she hide that she was sick? And why was I the only one who didn't know?" He was upset because Park Seo-jin's father had previously collapsed from dizziness in a situation where a stroke was suspected, and he did not want to tell Park Seo-jin because he worried he would worry him.
Park Seo-jin said, "The more successful I become, the more my parents hide being sick and hide their weaknesses. On the one hand, I sometimes wonder if my success becomes a burden for my parents, and many thoughts come to mind," she revealed.
Lee Yo-won expressed regret, "If she had at least told me, I wouldn't have been this flustered," and Eun Ji-won asked, "Does Ms. Yo-won also hide her illnesses from her family?" out of curiosity.
Then Lee Yo-won said, "I don't hide it. I tell everything. I'm sick right now," she disclosed. Eun Ji-won joked, "Don't people say they're sick even when they're not? Don't they say they're sick when asked to do something?" Lee Yo-won emphasized, "No. I'm so sick that I tell them not to look for me, not to touch me. You have to tell. When you're sick, you should tell everyone in the neighborhood."
