Actor Ahn Hyo Seop recalled his trainee days at JYP Entertainment.
On the 26th, the YouTube channel Jung Jae-hyung posted a video titled "Today I decided on my face and I'm leaving."
That day, Ahn Hyo Seop met with Jung Jae-hyung and talked about various topics.
Ahn Hyo Seop, who had lived in Canada, came to Korea after being offered to join an idol team, but the debut ultimately fell through. He said, "Actually I love music so much. I really love it so much, but when you repeat it like work through practice, I strongly felt that I might come to dislike it. So I thought I should definitely leave music as a hobby."
He continued, "Of course part of it was that I was cut because I wasn't good enough," and when asked how bad he was he replied, "I would have cut me too. Because singing I could have managed somehow, but dance. Dance was hard."
He recalled his feelings after the debut fell through: "I walked aimlessly along the road behind Galleria Department Store. I walked and then I had to tell my parents, so I called them and for the first time I cried and said, 'Father, I'm sorry.' They trusted me and let me go."
He added, "For about four or five years after I failed to debut I disliked talking about it. It seemed like a stain on my life. Looking back now it was such a valuable, beneficial experience, but at the time it felt like that."
Earlier, before debuting, Ahn Hyo Seop spent three years as a JYP idol trainee living with members of GOT7 and DAY6. After finishing his trainee life at JYP, Ahn Hyo Seop switched to acting and debuted in 2015.
