Actor Ahn Hyo Seop recalled his trainee days at JYP Entertainment.
On the 26th the YouTube channel Jung Jae-hyung posted the video "Today I'm going to fix my face and go."
That day Ahn Hyo Seop met with Jung Jae-hyung and talked about various things.
Ahn Hyo Seop, who lived in Canada, was offered to join an idol group and came to Korea, but the debut ultimately fell through. He said "Actually I love music so much. I'm someone who truly loves it, but when you practice it repeatedly like a job, I strongly felt that I might come to dislike it. So I thought I should definitely keep music as a hobby."
He added, "Of course I was cut because I wasn't good (when I was a trainee)," and when asked how bad he was he replied, "I would have cut me too. Because singing might have worked out somehow, but dancing—dancing was really difficult."
He recalled his feelings after the failed debut, "I walked endlessly along the road behind Galleria Department Store. I had to tell my parents, so I called them and for the first time I cried and said, 'Father, I'm sorry.' They believed me and let me go."
He went on, "For about four or five years after I debuted, I disliked talking about this. It felt like a stain on my life. Looking back now it was such a precious, beneficial experience, but at the time it felt that way."
Earlier Ahn Hyo Seop spent three years as a JYP idol trainee living with members of GOT7 and DAY6 before his debut failed. After finishing his trainee life at JYP, Ahn Hyo Seop switched to acting and debuted in 2015.
