With only two episodes left until the finale, 'Shin Yi-rang Legal Office' is closing in on Perfect Crown with a whirlwind plot and a tearful ending.
The 14th episode of the SBS Fri-Sat drama 'Shin Yi-rang Legal Office' (directed by Shin Joong-hoon, written by Kim Ga-young·Kang Cheol-gyu, produced by Studio S·Mongjakso), which aired on the 25th, recorded 6% in the metropolitan area and a peak of 7.4% (Nielsen Korea). The 20-49 viewing rating, the target audience metric, showed a household peak of 1.95%.
In the episode, Shin Yi-rang (Yoo Yeon-seok) decided to believe the father he experienced himself, not anyone else's words. Meanwhile, the suspicious moves of the father-and-son duo Yang Byung-il (Choi Kwang-il) and Yang Do-gyeong (Kim Kyeong-nam) raised the tension to the fullest.
Shin Yi-rang fell into extreme confusion after Yoon Jae-wook (Ko Sang-ho) exposed that Prosecutor Shin Ki-joong drove his father to death, and Han Na-hyun (Esom) discovered on her own why Shin Yi-rang suddenly changed. She found out about a past case involving the fathers of Shin Yi-rang and Yoon Jae-wook, and she was suspicious that Yoon Jae-wook had sent a message with a blocked caller ID saying Shin Yi-rang was Prosecutor Shin Ki-joong's son.
Holding onto a thread of hope, Shin Yi-rang went to find Yang Byung-il because he remembered Shin Ki-joong as a solid and upright junior. Yang Byung-il said Shin Ki-joong had said he felt uneasy just before cracking down on a gangster who preyed on Chinatown, and he told them about a detective who worked there for a long time. Shin Yi-rang, who headed to Chinatown with Han Na-hyun, could not meet the already retired detective but met an old-timer merchant who said he knew about that case.
After wandering, Shin Yi-rang arrived at the elementary school playground where he had played baseball with his father as a child. When he could not even believe himself, he recalled his father's sincere words that gave him infinite trust: "If there is even one person in the world who believes in you, you can overcome any difficulty." Facing Shin Ki-joong sitting alone in the empty playground, Shin Yi-rang decided to believe the just and kind 'my father,' called out his date of birth and name in a trembling voice, and confessed in tears, "You are my father."
Meanwhile, competing program MBC's Perfect Crown recorded a metropolitan rating of 11.3%, nationwide 11.2%, and 20-54 5.9% for its sixth episode in the same time slot.
