Recently, amid a string of fierce diss tracks in Korea's hip-hop scene, singer Minoy unexpectedly released a high-intensity attack video aimed at rapper Woo Won-jae, who once boasted a close friendship with him while under the same label.
Minoy recently uploaded a video titled mp4 (the second and hopefully the last) to his YouTube channel. The video is a follow-up work in the series that included "the first and hopefully the last," which drew attention as it conveyed his feelings after the earlier advertising controversy. In particular, Minoy left a comment in the video description saying "Please listen to Woo Won-jae mp3 a lot," directly implying that this video is a diss track aimed at Woo Won-jae.
In the video's introduction, Minoy directly mentioned him by name, saying "Won-jae," and unleashed explicit, harsh lyrics such as "the lyrics are only this much," "brush your teeth, you smell," "did you appeal by showing your nude body," "Woo Won-jae is no fun," and "birds of a feather flock together." In addition, the video's final part blatantly inserted the sound effect of a toilet flushing, further staging what appeared to be strong mockery of the other party.
Minoy and Woo Won-jae were both from AOMG, and in 2022 they appeared together on the popular web series Yori Jori season 3, generating buzz for their unique chemistry.
Afterward, the two teamed up on the duet "Underwater breakup" and, as part of pre-release marketing, each uploaded date-like photos taken at similar times and the same location to their respective SNS accounts, sparking a surprise "dating rumor." When these two, who once flaunted a close friendship, suddenly released a diss track, some have speculated that a serious falling-out may have occurred.
Meanwhile, intense diss battles have been ongoing in the hip-hop scene recently. Vinnatie raised allegations regarding settlement issues and neighboring rights, targeting Swings, and Swings responded on a live broadcast calling it "groundless" and countered.
The conflict has escalated as surrounding rappers have joined in. Giriboy expressed conflicted feelings, saying, "At the time, it was hard to agree," while Noel, although saying, "I hope the wasteful fighting stops," ultimately voiced support for Swings, fueling the conflict. Yang Hong-won also left a cryptic remark, and the controversy appears to be spreading throughout the hip-hop community.
