'Perfect Crown' Byeon Woo-seok's intention to push IU out changed.
On the 24th episode of the MBC Friday-Saturday drama 'Perfect Crown' (writer Yu Ji-won·planning Kang Dae-seon·producer Jang Se-jung·directors Park Jun-hwa, Bae Hee-young·produced by MBC, Kakao Entertainment), Seong Hee-ju (played by IU) was involved in an unexplained accident in the car carrying Iyoo (played by Kim Eun ho), and IAAN (played by Byeon Woo-seok), who drove his own car to stop it to save her, suffered a shoulder injury.
Seong Hee-ju was worried after learning of IAAN's injury. IAAN was also worried about Seong Hee-ju. A brief tenderness blossomed between them, but soon Min Jeong-woo (played by Noh Sang Hyun) learned of Seong Hee-ju and IAAN's contractual marriage.
Min Jeong-woo warned his beloved younger sister Seong Hee-ju, saying, "Don't you know how dangerous the royal family is?" Seong Hee-ju explained the necessity of the marriage, saying, "It's a contractual marriage. You give what you have to give and receive what you have to receive. Aren't there many like this around you? I have everything except my status. I have money, greed and ability." Min Jeong-woo then suggested, "Then marry me." Hearing this, IAAN felt conflicted. To make matters worse, memories of his mother lost in a car accident haunted him and he suffered nightmares. He declared the cancellation of the engagement to Seong Hee-ju.
Yet IAAN wanted to compensate Seong Hee-ju in any way. For example, he invited Seong Hee-ju to Naejinyeon, an event attended only by people of high status. Yoon Yi-rang (played by Gong Seung-yeon) invited Seong Hee-ju on the condition that IAAN would not marry her.
Seong Hee-ju was actually angered. When she found IAAN, she said, "You only know how to bend, so you lose even to someone you can beat. I asked for status, not a comfortable cradle," raising a bow. She said, "Don't bend. Don't yield, and don't step back. Only then will both the person and the family get what they want," and tried to shoot the arrow, and IAAN stopped the arrow with his own hand to protect a cat.
Seong Hee-ju advised IAAN, "This is how you protect. By attacking the attack itself." Those words struck IAAN deeply.
IAAN approached Seong Hee-ju again, and Seong Hee-ju accepted IAAN's apology. On the long‑awaited Naejinyeon day, Seong Hee-ju appeared in an outfit that broke convention. Still, she went to IAAN, who had to stand at the very end beside her, and took his hand as he pulled her forward.
In the preview for the next episode, Seong Hee-ju playfully said, "IAAN is trying to overprotect me." In addition, in uniform IAAN knelt on one knee before Seong Hee-ju in a dress and proposed, offering a large diamond ring. In the epilogue, IAAN's pure love, secretly watching over Seong Hee-ju, was revealed, but Seong Hee-ju's complete inability to notice it was shown, raising curiosity about their past.
