Singer Soyou revealed the high-end villa in Hannam-dong where she is about to move.
On the 24th, a video titled "Rent 1.3 million won: Soyou's house revealed" was uploaded to the "Lee Chang-seop & Jeo Chang-seop" channel.
Lee Chang-seop visited his same-age close friend Soyou's home and asked, "There are no listings here. Is it a monthly rent?" Soyou, who said she pays an annual rent rather than monthly rent, said, "I've lived here for six years, but I'm moving soon," and added, "I thought I would live in this house and then get married. But I stopped thinking about marriage. Then there's no need to keep living here."
Soyou lives in Hannam Hillside, located in the upscale Hannam-dong neighborhood, which consists of five buildings and 49 households. When Lee Chang-seop previously searched for listings, no information appeared, and instead a listing showing "100 million won with a monthly rent of 1.3 million won" popped up, shocking him.
Lee Chang-seop asked, "Why did you stop thinking about marriage?" and Soyou said, "If you love someone you can date them, so why necessarily get married?" indicating she no longer thought about marriage.
Regarding the house where Soyou lives, Lee Chang-seop noted that the Ministry of National Defense building is visible beyond the windows and that the security is tight. Soyou said, "This place originally only accepted foreigners. There are many embassies nearby, so only embassy chiefs of staff were allowed to move in. They were selective about entertainers, too." She added, "When I first came here it was a bit picky. When I was looking at the house I thought, 'Who are they to judge me?' Now the management company has changed and two firms operate it together."
She went on, "The good thing about this house is that when something breaks, you call and they come and fix everything. 'A light bulb went out,' 'A door is broken' — they come and fix it all."
