On the 23rd episode of the tvN STORY variety show 'What to leave behind,' Lee Young-ja confessed to past conflicts over floor noise.
That day Lee Young-ja began, "Even with the slightest movement, it came up from the downstairs. I felt wronged even when I wore slippers." She recalled, "Stress built up from the repeated situation, so I walked only sideways holding the wall. I couldn't live in my house." She even said she once showed the situation directly to acquaintances. She said, "In frustration I took Song Eun I and Kim Sook to my house and told them to "hold the wall and walk," and the doorbell really rang," adding, "I really couldn't live there."
Lee Young-ja also judged that she was not the only cause of the noise. She said, "It seemed like structural noise from the entire building rather than because of my house," and added, "It was impossible to solve."
She also revealed why it was especially difficult to respond directly. Lee Young-ja said, "Because I'm a celebrity, they told me not to go up directly. They said it would cause unnecessary trouble, so I ended up moving," which added to the poignancy.
Fellow cast member Pak Se-ri also shared worries caused by noise from the upstairs. Pak Se-ri empathized, saying, "Even if I try to be understanding, it's uncomfortable when it's too noisy until late at night. If it's too bad, I've even considered going up to check." In response, Lee Keum-hee suggested a practical solution. She said, "If it were me, I would write a letter to the upstairs. I would convey the difficulties from the downstairs perspective and propose that we try to solve the problem together," adding, "In fact, the Building Act and structural problems are bigger issues."
Hearing this, Lee Young-ja joked, "Isn't the government going to call me, I should be the minister of communication," and Lee Keum-hee replied, "I hope they don't call me. If they call, I'll try too hard," which drew laughter.
